Hsiang-Yun Cheng received her B.Sand M.Sdegree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University, and received her Ph.D. degree from Pennsylvania State University in 2016. During her graduate study, she had internship experience at IBM Research Lab and Oak Ridge National Lab in United States. She is currently an assistant research fellow of the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI) at Academia Sinica.

Dr. Cheng's research falls primarily in the field of computer architecture, with an emphasis on memory system design. She is especially interested in exploiting emerging technologies (e.g., non-volatile memories, 3D integrated circuits) and application implications (e.g., programming model, compiler runtime) to design energy-efficient computer systems. Her past research in these fields has been published at major conferences, such as ISCA and MICRO.
