Short Biography
Ronald Y. Chang received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from
National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2000; the M.S. degree
in electronics engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu,
in 2002; and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the
University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2008. From
2002 to 2003, he was with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI),
Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2008, he was a Research Intern at the Mitsubishi
Electric Research Laboratories (MERL), Cambridge, MA, USA. In 2009, he
was involved in the NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)
projects. Since 2010, he has been with the Research Center for
Information Technology Innovation (CITI), Academia Sinica, Taipei,
Taiwan, where he is currently a full Research Fellow
(Professor). He was a Visiting Scholar with the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA,
in July-August 2018, and with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, USA, in 2021-2023. His research interests include wireless
communications and networking. He was a recipient of the
Best Paper Award from the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking
Conference (WCNC), in 2012, and the Outstanding Young Scholar Award from
the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan, in 2015 and 2017. He was an Exemplary Reviewer of the IEEE Communications
Letters, in 2012, the IEEE Transactions on Communications, in 2015, and
the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, in 2017. He currently serves as
an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing, and an APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer.

□ RA, Intern, and Postdoc Openings
We have several openings for
full-time/part-time Research
Assistants (RAs), interns, and Postdoctoral Fellows (Postdocs).
Prospective individuals are invited to read the following:
1. Passion and self-motivation of a
candidate are highly valued.
2. A hard-working attitude and an open mind are just as important as
past research experiences.
3. You will get credit for your work by publishing research papers, and
you will take the credit with you after you leave.
4. Familiarity with TeX or LaTeX, or a willingness to learn it, is
necessary.
5. Opportunities to attend international conferences to present your own
work may be available.
6. Individuals who plan to pursue advanced study abroad or pursue an
academic career are ideal candidates and are encouraged to apply.
7. International students or research fellows are welcome. I have previously worked with people from India, Pakistan, Turkey, and the U.S.
Qualifications: The successful candidate
must hold a Ph.D. (for Postdocs) or B.S./M.S. degree (for
RAs) or is an undergraduate/graduate student (for interns) in EE/CS/MATH or a related
area. Programming skills (Python, Java, Matlab, etc.)
are desired.
Topics: Wireless
communication and networking, machine learning in wireless
communications.
Appointment: The
starting time is flexible by mutual
agreement.
Salary and Benefits: The successful
candidate will receive a salary that is commensurate with experience, as
well as a benefits package of a year-end bonus and health insurance.

□ Postdoctoral Fellows Program at
Academia Sinica
The Postdoctoral Fellows Program at
Academia Sinica accepts applications for merit-based postdoctoral
fellowship twice a year. The appointment for this full-time research
position is on a two-year term, starting from July 1 and January 1 each
year (for application by March 1 and September 1, respectively).
The awardee will receive a generous package of salary
and subsidies. Visit

Internship lasts during summer or non-summer
months. Undergraduate and graduate students
currently pursuing a degree in EE/CS/MATH or a related area are encouraged to apply.
Visa application is required for international
candidates. Interns will build connections and gain valuable research experience and
