        Shu-Jiun (Sophy) Chen is the Assistant Research Engineer at Research Center for Information Technology Innovation, Academia Sinica. She received her M.A. degrees in Library and Information Management from the Information Studies Department of University of Sheffield, UK in 1997, and Ph.D. in the Department and Graduate Institute of Library and Information Science at the National Taiwan University. Dr. Chen has been with the Computing Centre, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, where she is an Information Analyst since August 1, 1998.

        Her research interests include digital libraries, metadata and knowledge organization, and human information behavior. She has published over 30 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and over 50 technical reports and invited speeches. Besides, she is also the Chair of the MCN Taiwan (Museum Computer Network, Taiwan Chapter) Special Interest Group on Standards (Standards SIG). Recently, she initiated the Research Project of Chinese-language AAT (Art & Architecture Thesaurus) with Getty Research Institute, US.

        Dr. Chen currently serves as Program Manager of Program Office of the Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program(TELDAP) , and also the Co-PI of the Metadata Architecture and Application Team (MAAT) of Research & Development of Technology Division of the TELDAP, sponsored by the National Science Council, Taiwan.
