The emergence of Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR) has spurred rapid development of advanced network technologies, paving the way for innovative, immersive mobile multimedia streaming. Recognizing the growing demand for VR/XR-supported networks, we will first introduce the background on multimedia streaming and then present recent research on multiview selection, cache policy design, Redirected-Walking parameter selection, RIS phase configurations, and cybersickness alleviation for efficient resource allocation and traffic engineering. Unlike previous studies focused on static traffic engineering and resource allocation in traditional networks, this talk will explore dynamic multiview multicast and caching in 5G mobile networks and Software-Defined Networks (SDN), with MEC proxy servers capable of machine-learning-based...
